|
This report added 20 July 2008 Descendants of Silas Hall Please note that we have added to this report a father for Silas so we could begin to create a possible link to fellow Hall males in Jefferson County, Tennessee between 1807 & 1815. Thomas Hall is a genuine person in the county at that time but we are not certain as to his relationship to the others but wanted to begin gathering information on Silas, his probably brother, Moses, and two possible brothers, Squire & Micajah. Descendants of Thomas Hall
Generation No. 1
1. THOMAS1 HALL
Notes for THOMAS HALL: There is no strong evidence that Thomas Hall is the father of Silas, Squire, Moses & Micajah. He is the bondsman for Squire and Leah Lane. While he is present in Jefferson Co., TN during the early 1800s, using him as a 'father' to these other men is simply a method of putting this report together and encouraging further research.
Children of THOMAS HALL are: 2. i. SILAS2 HALL, b. Abt. 1775, North Carolina; d. Abt. 1846, Jefferson Co., TN. 3. ii. SQUIRE HALL, b. 06 Mar 1791, Wilkes Co., NC; d. 11 Jun 1871, Richmond, Cass Co., IL. 4. iii. MOSES HALL, b. Abt. 1782, North Carolina; d. Bef. 1850, Jefferson Co., TN. iv. MICAJAH HALL, b. Abt. 1778, North Carolina; m. JANE THOMAS, 24 Oct 1808, Jefferson Co., Tennessee.
Notes for MICAJAH HALL: As with Squire, there has been no concerted effort to assure that Micajah is the brother of Silas, Moses & Squire. They are all in the same place and the same time in Jefferson Co., TN in the early 1800s. The bond for Micajah Hall & Jane Thomas listed Wm. Thomas as bondsman and D. Barton, witness.

Notes for SQUIRE HALL: There has be no concerted effort to conclude that Squire Hall is definitely the brother of Moses & Silas Hall. They are all in the same place at the same time in the early 1800s in Jefferson Co., TN. An Ancestry.com family tree lists this Squire Hall as a son of Martin D. Hall. Obviously much more research is needed. The book, "Tennesseans in the War of 1812" lists Pvt. Squire Hall in Capt. John Childs' company of E. Tn. Vol. Inf. commanded by Col Samuel Wear. Jefferson Co. Marriages lists Hall marrying Lear Lane with Thomas Hall being his bondsman and J. Hamilton as a witness.

Notes for MOSES HALL: Moses is noted on his death certificate to have been a soldier in the War of 1812. Moses is thought to be the brother of Silas Hall and possibly brother of Squire and Micajah as well. Thomas and Falby (children of Silas Hall) were known to communicate with Pleasant (child of Moses) later in life. In 1885, Falby wrote a letter to her brother, Thomas, and indicated she had seen Pleasant and that he was living in Missouri.
